    Default 8/8ths Wade & Butcher"For Barber's Use"Chopper in Red Acrylic

Here's one for the Christmas season, a W&B Chopper in red. I've been looking forward to shaving with this one. I've done the scales in a shaped red transparent acrylic. The blade needed to have the edge curve corrected as the edge was flat toward the back and had an abrupt curve at the toe. The blade took a nice edge once the bevel was set and after that it was fairly straight forward honing, compared the the wedges I've been doing lately. All the original hardware was used except the scales. Even the lead wedge was usable. I did use silver pins instead of brass. I had both but decided I wanted the silver. I'm going to be on the lookout for another "For Barber's Use" for a set, the next one will, of course, be green.

It's great how you were able to use the original hardware, and retain an original scale shape.

The translucent red turned into a great match of tradition+different.

Great job. Love the scales - I have an 8/8 Dorko with cherry red scales and the color is great. And a great touch with the washers as well. Very well done. Congrats.

Love that red acrylic. Looking forward to a pic with the red and green. Christmas is my favourite time of year....and this year I've asked for SRD gift certificates! Woop Woop!

Lovely razor though. Aces all the way.

    Classic scale shape. Very nice.
