Wow, that is such a beautiful razor. I was reading your story from the top and watching the before pics, trying to imagine what it would look like - and when I saw it, I got that "yikes, I want that!" feeling. Wonderful work, and a very lucky owner.

That is absolutely an insane restoration. The red (enamel?) was a perfect choice and really brings some extra life into the blade

It is a spray enamel. I taped off the blade, sprayed the spine, and then carefully went back and scraped off the paint from all the high spots.

Out of curiosity, had you decided to fill in the manufacturer stamp (Cherunker) with enamel, would you have used the same technique?

possibly, but, removing the rust on the tang made the stamps very light.. I doubt, even if I had tried, that the enamel would have stayed put very long.

Thanks! I have a couple that I may want to fill the maker stamp as it was originally but I never knew how. I'll give this a shot if I think it is deep enough.

Well, today I learned something. I have passed on many razors in that condition. I thought them to be unrestorable.
Thank you for some eye opening work!
