Default My first restoration and rescale.

I finally pinned the razor, after having it on the table for a while. I decided not to give it a mirror finish. I'm too lazy to do it by hand plus the compounds I need are hard to get around here, but as soon as I get myself a rotary tool, I will rescale it again and give it a nice polish. Now I just wanna use it. The original scales were discolored and I broke one while unpinning The scales are beech finished in CA. Actually pretty proud of the finish. It took a while, but the CA kinda raises the wood grain and makes it look nicer. The scales are actually a bit darker, than on these pictures. So yeah

    Before:

I discovered, there were plenty of very small pits under the patina on the blade.

    Now:

Btw. I have a DE razor I restored recently, where could I post the pics?

Zoo- Za- Zippity, It looks good to me. I like the satin sheen to the blade. My Mom and Grandma crocheted too. Keep up the good work

You have done a remarkable job. I really like the grain of the wood and the fact you made them nice and thin. Great proportions and blade choice.

Good job there for your first, especially when you had to make do without compounds.
You could post pics of your restored DE right here in Custom Builds and Restorations.
