Those scales are very nice, they truly look like they are full of blood. How did you do the 3 washer pins, what sizes did you use?

These were such a blast to do. I'm glad I could share them with you gents (and ladies). Feels even better having all the encouraging compliments.

I started to make a 'reply with quote' to acknowledge and thank the Dexter specific fan type comments...then realized that'll end up in a yards of scroll down, so didnt.

I too am a fan of the show. I've always felt the ad artwork they use is clean and bold, which is where I tried to go with these.

hahaha. To get in the mood, I did pick up plastic sheeting for this project, thinking just that. Originally I was doing splatter in the garage and had some plastic sheeting for it during moc ups. By the time the scales were ready to take the 'blood', weather cooled down. Had to run a space heater in one of the bathrooms to have in a warm area to work for curing.

I even played around with dipping and flicking various dipped items like an awl, a knife, an old razor, etc to learn a good way to apply. When I mentioned to the owner I was still trying to perfect the splatter technique, he said 'wonder if a spray bottle would work'. Again, I overlooked the easy way, lol. Applied with a spray bottle sucking up lots of air.

They are size #0 washers from microfasteners.com

FWB0 smallest brass at top, FWBW0 is the widest brass at bottom. Available here.

FWS00 is the middle stainless washer. Available here.

The 1/16" nickel rod came from TexasKnife...I think for this batch.

They look awesome Walt! Perfectly captured! You certainly go all out for every project.

How funny would it have been to have a maid come in and clean up the tub. The look on her face would have been epic.

I think the craftmanship is perfect, however the design I find somewhat disturbing to give you my honest opinion! Red and white reminds me of an ambulance. Had they been simply polished bone, you would have received my upmost praise, but I appreciate the craftmanship as mentioned, and that aesthetics are highly subjective.
