Default W&B restore (My first attempt)

Here is my first attempt at a restore, I tried to reuse all of the old components. I made new pins as the old ones were bent and the washers weren't great either. I polished up the blond horn, a sanded and polished most of the blade. This is a 'You Lather Well' W&B, so I tried to do as little as possible to the show side to avoid losing the etching on the blade, however one or two quick wipes with some Mothers polish all but removed the etching, really dissappointed.
Anyway here are a couple of pics ( I don't yet own a nice stand etc to showcase the photos).

Congrats on a clean razor. Do you have any before pics? Horn a joy to work on. It can really restore lovely, as you show here.

Here are a few pics from ebay that the seller posted.

There are some imperfections/cracks in the horn scales that are still clearly evident, particularly around the pivot, but I was keen to keep the original scales.

I would never classify this as an "attempt"! Thats a fine restoration, Sir! You have made it shine and the horn is outstanding! The pinning job is great! It's all there! THIS is what it looked like as-new! Thanks for showing it.Nice Work!

Nice work mate. Pinning is very nicely done and the horn looks lovely. They could crack in a week or last forever like that, I have a Bengall in horn with similar issues but we'll just wait and see. Shame about the etch, great job though.
