Default Old Veteran Gets New Abalone Inset Scales

Today I finished up another restoration with custom made scales.
It is an old Veteran Blade, M. Gambert N.Y. made in Germany.

I cleaned up the blade, then made new scales. The scales are poured resin. I started with a thin piece of black G10 backer, set the diamond w/notches Abalone. Once cured I did the normal cut, shape and buff. The wedge is made from a chunk of Walrus tusk.

And jut for you "Baldy" I added more than one picture this time...LOL

    I hope you guys enjoy.

Nice job with the scales and the blade. Good looking razor.

Great looking razor and fantastic scales, you have a piece of functional art in your hands.
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

Very classy, excellent scales and a great clean up on the blade.

The black and abalone contrast looks great. They look like in a tight, squared up line.

Quite a task lining up all those inlays. I know they want to shift when applying the resin. Did you tack them down first before the final pour?

Thank you and yes sir I did. I used industrial 442 but only a pin spot so there would be no bleed out. The issue with using 442 is that you only have on chance to get it right. Once you touch down your done.

Looks fantastic mate. Sounds like you put in a lot of work on that one, and it shows.
