Default Heljestrand in carbon fiber scales

This straight razor is a Heljestrand MK 32, made in Eskilstuna Sweden.

Carbon fiber scales with the grain canted forward to lend an aggressive profile. Pattern mirrored front and rear to run same way on both sides. Edges rounded off, and scales covered in clear to show off the 3D effect that carbon fiber has.

To keeping the high tech look black Torx fasteners. Yellow g10 wedge for splash of color and a nod to Sweden.

The tail of these handles shaped asymmetrical to give a comfortable feel when stropping. Fingers easily flip the blades shank, without getting tied up in the thumb notch. I think it nicely adds to the confident profile too.

The yellow wedge is what really makes that one pop. Love it.

I think this is very cool. First of all, I love the Torx screws. Second, that yellow wegde is smokin'.

Great work, as always Dirty. I usually don't like carbon fiber or the color yellow, but I really like this razor! I just hope you didn't toss those cool old bone scales

It does look futuristic and high tech. The clear coat does wonders as well as the contrasting wedge! Great scales

Thanks guys for all the positive input. I'll confess, the yellow wedge, and other details like the torx fasteners, was the request of the owner, not from me being creative. I'd say he made a nice choice, I too like the contrast.

They were saved and sent back to the owner when I initially disassembled. That crack is in an unusual direction, but they are ivory. The black spots that look like might be pits, is actually sticker residue and grim. The before pick isnt too sharp, but look real close and I think you can see the grain.

A shame of course, but no way to remove a crack. I suspect they will find another home on the right razor.

Nice Work, Sir! Problem with those loud wedges is they always seem to protrude, even when they aren't! The scales turned out sweet, and the torx fasteners really go perfectly with the carbon fiber, IMHO. Good thinking on shaping the pivot end. I think it will be very handy! The blade is georgeous. Thanks for sharing it! ....Say, whose blood is that on the table in the first pic? ...get it on...Tom

very nice work! I'm guessing by what looks to be a spot of blood on the floor that the razor is rather sharp?
