I've had this for a little while now and I've ummed and arred about having ago at restoring it myself or getting it professionally done.
Anyway, I decided to have a go myself.
Before
After
I'm really happy with the way that it came up. It took a while to get right. Especially getting the enamel paint in the right areas.

Well you should be happy with how it came out. I am really impressed!
You did a great job cleaning it up and bring the blade back, BRAVO !
Excellent job cleaning up the spine as well... that had to take quite a bit of time.

Nice work John, she came up really well. Looks like the spine work would have taken some time to get clean. You've done well mate.

Nice restoration. You used gold enamel to replace the goldwash - looks great! You know if you use metal polish on the old pins, they may just come out new looking with a little effort..
