Thanked: 993I'm the odd man out here....I say if you're going to wear a nice shirt and tie, then make sure that your pants are hemmed and pressed, and your shoes are mirror polished.
That blade looks awesome. Now...a nice new pair of horn scales, or some exotic wood buffed to a soft lustre....that's when my knees go weak.
Great job so far!

Thanked: 443Did you sand inside the scales? You can also polish inside them without any unpinning--just put some Flitz on a piece of ribbon and work it around in there. I think those are gorgeous scales. Give them a good soak in neetsfoot oil before you do anything too harsh to them. I had some nice ones delaminate on me, and I think it could have been prevented.

Thanked: 114That's your first restore? Would never have guessed it. Good job. As others have commented, I too really like those scales.

Well done on your first restore. Looks great. I think the old scales came up really well, I say keep 'em.
