8/8 Custom "Pegasus" Long Tail
Hello Gents,
I just finished up this 8/8. Steel is O1, lower Jimps, modest thumb knotch with covered tang/tail,Barber notch and satin finish. The scales and tang/tail are Pre Ban ivory which I got from Bill (Pixelfixed). Could not be more pleased with it.
I cut the ivory so as to use only the best portions through and through for both the overlaid tang and scales. I beveled the scales in an attempt to enhance the visual and dimensional effect of the natural Schreger lines in the material. Having limited experience with working ivory, I rather enjoyed it and have come to truly appreciate and respect its beauty.
Have a Great Weekend !
Best Regards Kenny

It looks stunning Kenny. Very clean lines. You have shown the true beauty of the ivory.
How did you pin the wedge? It looks as though you have interference fit pins + glue?

Very beautiful looking razor, i love the Ivory scales, it's so difficult to make any razor stand out and look different without doing something out of the ordinary, well your razor is anything but ordinary, well done.

Thanked: 2027As always Ken,a blade to behold, pic #2 truly shows the magnificent grain I knew those cuts would contain.
After a few mos. with hand rubbing using mineral oil on them the grain will be even more striking.
Great work as always.
