Horny Gotta :)
Did this for our very own Amund (Blix), the original scales had broke off by the pivot pin.
Didn't do much on the blade, just a light buffing through the polishing compounds.
The scales are made of tranculent horn in the original design, kept the original wedge and center spacer, pins are Nickel Silver with brass washers.

Let's add the SOTD photo as well.

After you left, I did the fastest honing I've ever done, 20 circles each way on the Chosera, then 15 laps regular/x, bevel set, popped armhairs no problem.
15 laps 4k Norton, then a quick pyramid 10/5, 7/3, 5/1 with 8k and 4k Norton.
20 laps slurried on the thuri, diluting every 5 laps, finishing with 20 laps on water. BAM ,killer edge.
These Gottas almost hone themselves.
The scales are awesome, balances perfectly and nice solid weight and feel, couldn't be happier.

I have one and have been trying to make it a pair for a while, but keep missing out on the bay. Mine hones extremely easy as well.
