WOW! That GB is a beast. Love the scales on both. The wedge on the JB is a bit chunky isn't it?

Thanked: 44Thank you. The John Barber wedge is thick - Its almost a full wedge grind blade, and so the thinner the wedge, the more the blade sticks out when its closed. I like my blades to stick out as little as possible, which sometimes warrants a thick wedge. But when you're using ivory, its not such a bad thing

I really like that 10/8 GB! I have a 19/16 myself and another 9/8, which at the moment is in pieces for restoring. Nice work. How does that monster shave? I found the 19/16 off balance with the original scales and that's the main reason for not shaving with it. I hope this wood is heavier and balances out better, because otherwise the shave will still be uncomfy...

Thanked: 44I just responded to you in the other thread about this thing too sashimi Its fun to shave with, typical sheffield steel... The wood is not all that heavy, but the wedge is almost half an ounce of sterling silver, so it helps the balance.
