Thanked: 68Natio. Yep quite like the stuff.
Mainly using the SPF30 Moisturiser face & head post shave. Nice scent, great moisturiser and not burning my chrome dome either.
The shave cream is "ok" - tend to add it in to an uberlather type mix.
Aussie beers....
far too many good ones this side of the ditch to bother drinking yours (definitely leave the XXXX for something other than drinking)Don't do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the paramedics!

Yes, Ive had the mango beer, very nice but totally agree with you that one is more than enough. Im the same with a dark beer / stout.. I enjoy one, especially with a square of very dark bitter chocolate ie 70-85% cacao, but never really feel like a second.
Ive been into a beer lately, NZ pure, its pretty cheap at the bottle-o and a very pleasant beer to drink. They do a summer beer also (very light but thats not really my thing), if I m going a light flavoured beer I prefer the old Corona or Sol. There's a chain of bottle shops in Brisbane called chalk-and-cheese, and one is only a couple of hundred metres from my house. They have a fantastic range of boutique beers but at reasonable prices, and the manager there Tim certainly knows his stuff and has recommended many a fine beer for me. Its rare that I would pay more than 16 a 6 pack or 50 a carton and usually try to find a decent beer cheaper.
Ive been thinking I should get back into the home brew... with artificial carbonation its not too hard to make a great, crisp beer, and dirt cheap. The last time I was doing it, with excellent ingredients I calculated it was costing me 58c a pint. With inflation its sure to be higher now but would guess still under $1 a pint. The thing that turned me off the home brew was the limited number of beers I could have. My beer fridge only had room for 3 x 22L kegs, and one or 2 were always half empty. These days I enjoy the convenience of taking my dog Pete for a walk and grabbing a 6 pack on the way back. That way I can just grab the style of beer Im in the mood for.

I am quite partial to porters but don't see them much here.
And as for beer from the south eastern Australian isles, I have only beard of waikato draught, but have never tried it.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Thanked: 60Being and English chap, I think Aussie beer is overpriced and NZ beer is overpriced and weak.
However when in rome….If I want a bitter Constable is pretty good, I also love Blue Tongue, Mercury Cider, and Tooheys.
If I want home I go for a pint in the local irish bar and get Guinness or Kilkenny, its as close as I can get.
Shame they don't do Fosters here thats the favourite English beer….or is it Heineken or Carling? its all a haze…. Lol

Thanked: 983Fosters is the worst kind of...Well I would banned from SRP if I described it as it is...I won't humiliate the standards of any animals, people or countries, but just know that it is less than drinkable!

Thanked: 60They always called Fosters an Aussie beer, it's sure not the same as they brew in the UK. Fosters was pretty good there, it's dire here.

Thanked: 203Yo Mick....remember Sydney Lager and KB ?
I drink very little these days. Gave up the Single Malts after too many arguments with SWMBO about why she had to have the $30 scotch in her coke and why I got upset when she put my $100 ones in coke....women..
anyway.. at pubs XXXX is on tap and cheap. When I buy for home and feel a bit rich, can't go past Matso's Chili Beer.
for Ginger Beer I would vote Crabbie's number one. Especially the one with a hint of orange in it.

Thanked: 983Don't remember those two Adam. There's probably a reason for that...The wife bought me a slab of Steamrail Amber Ale that I've been slowly drinking since Christmas. Not a drop that I like as a personal taste, but it's all right all the same. I think the Golden Ale might be a bit more to my taste, but I won't know until I try it. Fat Yak is another good Aussie beer and Little Creatures as well. You'll notice I'm not mentioning any of those other beers that may have laid claim to being Aussie once, but are no longer...I reckon I can still type XXXX and not have it considered a name though .
Mick
footnote: I won't bother with Steamrail again. Just discovered it's owned by Coles, made by Liquorland for liquorland, but makes no mention of Liquorland anywhere on the label. It might be all right but I'm not a fan of Coles or Myer stores, so it just comes down to principles now.Last edited by MickR; 01-19-2014 at 04:44 AM.
