    Default Nice "Aussie" razor

This is a bit odd. I keep a lookout for Aussie themed razors for "Renspen" on ebay, as she's writing a book about them.
By some weird circumstance, I spotted this whilst net surfing with only a few minutes to go

I didn't have enough time to contact her and hope that she could reply, evaluate and possibly bid.
I don't usually set my ebay search to "Australia only" when searching for straights.

To be totally honest, I've wanted a JNO. Baker razor (it's been on my bucket list) for quite a while as
Sydney is where I was born. To get the matching box as well is very gratifying !!

I'm going to keep this one, but I hope that more will emerge as I'm sure these were made by our old
friends the "Bengall" makers and are top quality. I will stand corrected if you disagree....

Thanks Walter It was great to get such a blade in this good condition.
I wonder if the scales are showing signs of cell rot though ?

I almost pulled the trigger on that one just because it was from Sydney. Enjoy!

Mos def a Bengall razor & doesn't show any signs of cell rot. Possibly oil & rust satins at the pivot
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Hey Bongo - you took the Jno Baker with its original box eh! A good buy. I did see it but didn't try for this as I had my dollars on a couple of others I 'needed' at the same time, and have a number of these already in my collection so no need to be greedy.... its a great historic purchase, and yes, being a Bengall by Cadman, should come up to be a good shaver too.
Would be very happy for a pic of that original box for my research though!
    Cheers
