I was using running water but now use a wet face cloth, I then rinse that under running water. Would be entirely gross not to...
Has been a long time since I've posted, now I feel complete again.

This is my current set up,
Bengall on the left (can see where I dropped it and broke the scales) Es=Ex No. 4 on the right, Both very nice shavers.
RazoRock 888 shave soap, which did cause a bit of "burning" on my face at first but I have gotten used to it now and don't feel it anymore... Very nice soap though.
Random brush ($10 eBay job) was labeled as "best" badger hair but I couldn't tell you if it really is or not. Does the job wonderfully; I lather straight onto my face.
And Sorbolene for afterwards, I shave then shower, then whack the sorbolene on my face and shoulders as I tend to have dry skin.

As has been pointed out my mate Oz is the one to talk to. I really wish that the Big Pond wasn't there as I'd really like to sit down with him and listen and learn. Hell if the Pond wasn't there my mates Mick, Oz and I could party down.
I've used the running water method for five years now and I've never banged a razor on a faucet. While it might just happen the next time I shave I doubt it as I try very hard to concentrate on Everything that I'm doing while I'm shaving. When I go to rinse the blade I'm really careful and watch very closely.
Just call it a lesson well learned. Incidents that have distinct visual memories are the ones that you tend to never forget! Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Oz is a very generous bloke, I spent a couple of hours with him and learned a whole lot. He even lapped my Escher for me The Bengall in the picture above sustained some damage to the "rear" scale as you can see when I dropped it, I nearly cried as I'd put a fair bit of effort into restoring it. Left a nasty knick in the blade too
Some day I'll replace the scales with something nice, I'm thinking English Oak would be fitting seeing as its an English blade.
