That Henckels is a perfect example of a razor that is approaching it's use by date. Have a close look at the heel in the second pic. There is no belly left in the blade & the stabiliser already shows hone wear. Not saying it's life can't be extended a little longer but you'd wanna know how or allow for the repair fees when you bid.

Thanked: 94I was just looking at the uneven hone wear and thinking it wasn't on my list of things to do. At least he gave you good photos to make your judgement on, I got a job lot of three razors today and one that I was intending to use as a scales donor ended up having a dirty big chip out of the side of the scales that wasn't photographed. Not complaining though as I still ended up with a Puma and another razor for $35.

Having become slightly suspicious & cynical in my old age, I don't buy razors that don't show good pics of both sides... except maybe a Puma

Thanked: 983Thought I would post a heads up here for any locals that may be interested. I spotted a Rolls Razor in fair condition (Needs a little TLC to clean it up) at an antique store in Redcliffe. Going price was $45..I don't think they will budge from that price, but you might get them to knock a few dollars off if you ask them and point out that it isn't the best example you've seen for that price. The strop section would probably need to be replaced with a smoother bit of leather, but the hone side was good and the razor and the case would just need a bit of polishing up. PM me and I will give you the shop location if you like.

Thanked: 94Sometimes that's a fun game to play. I once bid up a razor to $80 just to make the other guy bidding keep on taking more money out of his pocket, by the end of it I was getting nervous because I was way over my limit for it and we were the only two bidders.

Thanked: 983That's almost exactly what I did. Went way over my limit too, and was most relieved to see that I had been out bid at the final minute.

This may be interesting for those in the NSW. The other week driving back from the Canberra business Tripp I've decided to stop in the historic Berrima to have lunch. After the lunch I had a stroll around this nice little town and found a big antique store near White horse hotel.
Out of habit inquired about the razors. Sure thing, to my big surprise I've been presented with at list 300 of them in a few plastic boxes.
Went very quickly throw them,as I did not have much time. About half of them not worth even to look at, but among the other half one can find a few worth restoration. There are some interesting ones for those who likes oldies. Quickly pick up a couple very nice 6/8" Bengals for a very reasonable bargain price and off to Sydney. If you near or passing by worth to have a look!
