They say that if the US economy worsens (which it will) and the Greek economy defaults (which it will) then our dollar will plummet. It's interesting that considering the overall strength of our economy, our high interest rates and our reasonably low unemployment, we get 'punished' because of poor economies O/S. Then again, I'm a little gloomy and suspect the Chinese economy will slow massively. I think one day, in a dim and sorry future, we'll be a little pissed off that we dug up our minerals and shipped them off overseas, sold our prime farmland, shipped all our manufacturing jobs overseas and sold our coal reserves. I was listening to something the other day about 'no tillage' farming. Sounds wonderful until you learn that it only works if you pour herbicides on the land. And then it gets a little concerning when you hear that some weeds now have built up a resistance to those herbicides, much like bacteria and the overuse of anti-biotics. Now I don't need to produce enough food on my 1/4 of an acre block to feed the family, but I haven't used ANY chemicals for the last 14 years. I use only cow poo retrieved from over the fence to fertilise. It's amazing how many insects there are in my garden, all working 'in sync'. I've no idea why I decided to start ranting about the environment...

Because the more we rant about the enviroment and the state of affairs of those doing the selling off this great country, the more chance someone with the the ability to do something about it, just may be listening...Or at least, word will hopefully get back to them, and they have the guts to do something about it. Australia as a nation has become a bunch of sell off's We sell all our assets to the highest bidder, and once it's gone what is left?! A bunch of rich politicians and even richer foreign owners and that's about it.

Just a sec. Is this reality? Is someone actually agreeing with me about this stuff? I equate it to having a room to let, that others would very much like to let, but instead of letting it, going for the lazy easy option of simply selling it.

MickR you can be Mr Vice Emperor if you like when I set up my empire/commune/dictatorship...

That's all it takes? I've been saying the federal government should forcably resume all foreign own lands and utilities (ESPECIALLY utilities!) and charge the state and federal ministers, both past and present, who authorised the deals with treason.

I also consider that DRM on games and audio/video media is a violation of our free use rights and all publishers should be forced to remove it or their products are barred from the Australian market.

Yeah, 'cause Mick's ute has at LEAST 23 Red Heeler cattle dogs in the back of it AND several shotguns and a few rifles...
