Thanked: 1Hey Mick R it's Rusty(The Cricket Club, Arron and The Boys Etc.) I didn't realize it was you till I saw the Photo's from the get together. Small World! You never told me you were into Razors? I see you met my mate James.
I'm very dissapointed I missed the Night now, but when the Wife arranges a Family Get Together for your Birthday, you have to be there or it's Instant Divorce.Hmmm.

Thanked: 94Thanks to all the boys for a fun evening.
The basic idea for the next one would be to for a workshop type afternoon. If Stu's church hall is available and they don't mind us making a mess with honing razors, lapping stones, pinning, unpinning etc. that would be my suggestion.
how does end January/early February suit people.
I'd be aiming for another Sunday afternoon.

Thanked: 983Yep that sounds good to me Paul. I'm for a church meeting next time around if the majority want to do that.

Hi Ricky,
Nah, i don't know any other people at all really. Only the few i have spoken to in the last couple of weeks I've been a member here. I'm more than happy to come down to Brisbane to meet some people though I would have come this time except I pick my kids up for every second weekend.
It was a little short notice on this occasion to change things around LOL.
Aidan.

Thanked: 0Hey guys, thanks for a great get-together yesterday. As a few have said, I was learning heaps, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I had a really good chat with Stu on his custom work, even his brush and razor stand was impressive! Being an industrial designer, it was pretty inspiring. Talking/listening with Geoff, MickR and Pauly gave me loads of info on strops, hones and the inbetweens. Pauly gave me heaps of info on different steels... and steals too . Really stoked about getting the cut-throat off Pauly as it's 0.62" compared to my bengall which is 0.85". As soon as I got home I put my newly acquired kangaroo strop into action. After a little practice at a slow pace then 25 laps on both sides of the leather, my bengall was popping hairs as easily as Pauly's razor which was given a little hone by Jimbo I think *woot*.
Now I'm squeezing follicles out as fast as I can in anticipation of my next shave, I've got an fantastic smelling swedish soap off of Sam, a new blade off Pauly, to have fun with!
Thanks to everyone who came along, it was great to meet you all, and I'm sure we'll meet again soon.
