Instead of yep, that really should have started yeah mate. And don't forget the ubiquitous yeah, no, but that's only for when you are disagreeing with someone.

Yeah Nah: This can be VERY confusing for non Kiwi's. It generally means "I agree with you, that it isn't..." i.e. 'Australian's can't play rugby aye?' 'Yeah nah,'. - Hope that clears that up..... Oh and i found Carl a hat about six months ago, looked a bit like this..Name: slough-hat.jpg

We don't use them much down here as we prefer our left earlobe without the sunburn.

Was thinking a diggers hat would suit Mr s. Regarding the sunburn, just wear the hat back to front.

How on earth did I miss this thread?

It will probably come as no surprise to many of you that I HAVE actually considered a hat. A Fedora maybe. Or even a cloth cap. Especially for when I inherit my father's Austin Healey Sprite. However (and I DO realise I'm simply force feeding you the ammunition here) I have a smallish hat size. Yeah, I know, you didn't see that coming did you? A 53 CM I believe. Most hats look rather ridiculous on me.

Here are four photos of Carl (three wearing a hat) I'm sure you'll enjoy, the third one is especially funny; check out the beret! The last one is sans hat but with hair. I'm in the front row on the right with my arms crossed...

Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

After reading through this 'helpful and informative' thread (as someone who looks a LOT like Fozzy bear said) I feel I must say I'm very honoured to have been the subject of six (six) pages of discourse; nay WITTY discourse from my friends. You seem to all know me quite well, which seems quite strange and yet oddly comforting...

And also, it's probably worth saying ...you guys are WEIRD...The other night I said to my wife "I need the computer; I need to post pictures of my boots on an online forum..." which is odd enough (in and or itself) but 6 pages of hat ideas is just clazy...

...Oh, and can we have a party sometime? I'm guessing it would be GREAT

YAY you finally joined us, no comment on the hat size. Is there anything that takes your fancy? I bave a similar hairline to you in the bottom photo, it has been the same for the last 12yrs.
Is that a devils tail peeking from out of your shirt sleeve?
You are a bit young for a fedora, but maybe a cloth cap, not the northern English ones, one of the slightly baggier 1930's ones.
Is the feller in the middle on your group photo holding a thermos?
A meet up would be fun, but logistically problematic. Frankenstein is particularly keen, maybe next time I head over east I could stop off in Adelaide, I reckon he would come.over too.

Yes, a 1930's cloth cap would be nice! No, it's a dragon's tail, seems everyone in the 80's were getting tatts of dragons. I've got five mote since then; I'd like some more but Cindy says I'm too old...
My hairline unfortunately has NOT remained the same, although it is retreating at only glacial speed. It is indeed a thermos, apparently he always carries a thermos in photos. That was the 'Subject 3 for Sergeant course' I was Student of Merit of course, I then went on to be Student of Merit in the Subject 1 course and Bombardier of the Year. was extremely fit then; that was when I was a Recruit Instructor, my hair is longish as it's between platoons. I was shacked at the slovenly nature of my course mates. The first morning when we have PT (Physical training) we were all standing around waiting for the Physical Training instructor. One of them turned to me and asked what the session would be today. I said "I don't know!" They said, "Oh, we thought you were the instructor, you look like it!". They were very 'casual' and I was extremely regimental...

No, they were normal and you were uptight... You can tell by the photo with the arms crossed...That or you were just sulky that day.
