Yeah, you could use the pipe like a funnel, you'd get all squiffy quicksmart.

Just because the pipe was larger wouldn't matter, it could just have a more substantial wall thickness.

Or perhaps I could just have smaller, more girly hands and make people like you feel a little more secure about yourselves .

Judging from the hat I would have expected a Peterson System or a vintage Dunhill. Nice lid! In any case, you are a natural my friend, perhaps it's time to re-examine your list of enjoyable past times. Nothing better with a cocktail or cold beer than a pipe full of something good. There's an old saying in these parts "The only thing better than one crawfish dinner is two crawfish dinners." In my neck of the woods we've had British Isles-like weather the last couple days. This may just expedite the start of whiskey season which I normally start on 01 October. The gray damp weather has put me in the mood for a bit of John Jameson or perhaps some Maker's Mark.
