    Default Musicians?

Hey guys, I'm a musician myself and just wondering how many others of you out there are also musicians!
I've been singing since i was VERY young (4 years maybe?) and since then i delved into the world of music, picking up a guitar at 11 years old and teaching myself; in my early teens 14/15 i had a "highschool sweetheart" who was a violinist so i spent alot of time in the music room in school where i picked up piano and drums on my own accord. I also learned to play the harp(harmonica) and was instantly addicted as soon as i could play "Isn't she lovely" by Stevie wonder.

So guys, i'd like to know, What do you play? Are there any stories behind how you got into the instrument(s)? And how long have you been playing? Just a fun little thread for any musicians out there.

A good bassline is enough to make any woman melt ! How long have you been playing, out of curiosity? And what style/genre of music do you mainly play?

I was asked to join a band, never touched a bass before that, it was around 5 years ago. I picked it up quick enough, we were playing shows 6 months later. Lasted about another year and half before we self destructed due to a fatal case of dumbitis with a couple members. We played a lot of Alice N Chains, Smile Empty Soul, Stone Temple Pilots, RATT, Volbeat, and several others of the same type. I loved it. Just haven't got around to finding another band. Wished we would have done some originals to mix in with the covers, but every time we started that, the dumbitis flared.

One thing we did do that was semi-original, a remake of Johnny Cash Folsom prison, kind of sounded like Johnny Cash if he was a member of Alice N Chains. lol

Ah that's awesome! I miss playing in a band so much aswell, wish there was more musically orientated people in my area (that don't want to play things that are too mainstream). Don't get me wrong, some mainstream stuff is fine but most of the time it's a no go, i just like real talent!

I'm a big Cash fan, got the idea from the band Volbeat. Every album they redid an old song, Hank Williams sr., Bay city rollers, etc, but took their style to it. We did a cover of Volbeats cover of I only wanna be with you. lol

Very unique style there on that psych project! Great stuff, nice to hear something out of the norm.
