    Buddy of mine running Ubuntu does the virtual machine thing when he is stuck needing to run windows software.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    As a part of their developer program I am now running Yosemite and iOS 8 in addition to the ones mentioned earlier in this thread.
    Hopefully they will both be good when finished, but they are not quite there yet...

    Yeah, that's what I do too, but I also use very few things which require Windows. Some things work better in a true native environment than in a virtual machine (games, I would imagine).

    Mac OSX Mavericks 10.9.4....I'm a Windows to Mac convert as of 3 years ago. I'll never go back.

    I upgraded my motherboard a few months back to a "new" AOpen with a 3GHz dual-core Pentium IV (32-bit) and 4GB RAM, and went back to Linux Mint 11 ("Katya").

    What is an OS exactly? Ostrich sandwich? Old straight? I just run what ever comes inside the box.

    You get an operating system (OS) and then select an ISP, and you're good to go.
