    Just changed the oil in our new Outback with the 3.6 v6. Rascal holds 7 quarts of oil! That's more than my 6.0 in my suburban! I had only bought 5 quarts with the oil filter, fortunately I had a spare oil change here at the house for my truck...still running Castrol Synthetic. Car calls for a change every 6K miles, but every 5K is simpler to keep up with.

    My 2000 f250 7.3l turbo diesel took 14 quarts....

    I was just surprised that the lil v-6 used more oil than my v-8, I think all American diesel trucks use a lot of oil like you are talking about.
