Thanked: 3225With all the bacon talk just had to fry up some thick sliced back bacon, 2 fried eggs over and sandwiched it between 2 toasted English muffin halves with a touch of mustard. Tasty lunch and better than Micky Dees. Oh, and yes I used egg formers so they were nice and round for the muffins.

I don't think the pigs like this thread. They don't like it at all. My neighbors prize hog wanted me to tell you if one day you be a little intoxicated and fall in a pen it be their turn to chow down on you and they aren't too particular about the fancy stuff. No maple syrup or eggs or nothing. They'll enjoy you as you are.

Thanked: 228I love some thick sliced smoked and cured Hog Jowls fried up slightly crispy on a Texas sized flaky buttermilk biscuit with some home made fig preserves. Served with a large mug of hot coffee. I'd think I'd died and gone to heaven! How about some love for the un-appreciated hog jowl!

Thanked: 1185I concur that bacon is pure manah from heaven and proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. My daughter however...and this is very hard for me to admit...will not eat bacon. Don't know where she got those genes as my wife is Filipina and loves bacon, chicharone, spam or anything swine or swine like. Likewise my grandson (fueled by the commercial shown below) is a bacon hater as well and maintains that bacon is just food for dogs! Then again he's a bit of a confused child and doesn't eat peanut butter either. I think most of my generation would agree that when we were kids if we didn't eat peanut butter we would have surely starved to death by now. Anyway, here's the commercial that ruined a good thing for my young grandson. Fortunately his sister (my grandaughter) is a bacon lover through and through.
PS: No clue who first implemented the idea of bacon on cheeseburgers but he is certainly a man of pure genius who should immediately be cannonized as a saint.Last edited by 1OldGI; 01-10-2015 at 10:34 PM.

I have seen the best of three worlds combined. It's called maple bacon ice cream

Oh the ice cream is good maple syrup and brown sugar with small bits of bacon mixed in. Ohhh, it was goooood... Problem though, the only place that I found it was a little store in a town called Hot Springs, North Carolina. It was from a local ice cream maker and distributor
