It was a bolt action with a 5 round magazine. Sorry, I have no idea about the barrel.

Edit: It was this one, pretty sure:

My first Rifle was a BSA Meteor around age 10 and my first pistol was a Webley Tempest, both .22

I had to look, the Tempest looks a fine air pistol. That BSA Meteor looks a lot like my Gamo!

Webley made some pretty nice stuff, i have a few Webley knives too which are not as functional as their firearms but are very pleasing on the eye. I actually always (still do) loved the Tempests predecessor the Webley Premier.
Opposite scale of the topic, the last i bought was a Weihrauch HW95, solid rifle.

The first handgun purchased with my own money was a brand new High Standard Sport King with about a 4.5 inch barrel in .22 LR.

I received a 1911 and Walther PP as Xmas presents earlier (2 days before my 6th birthday), but the Sport King taught me the most about pistol shooting.

Ok, pistols.... About 1950 or so I bought for $5 a surplus oddity from a buddy; The Webley-Fosbery:

Ammo was hard to find and expensive so I sold it after a few trips to the waste dump for shooting practice.

Bet you wish you had hung on to that one, Richard! Seems a good collectible now?

My first gun was a Steven Maynard Jr. .22 LR if your not counting bb and pellet guns. I still have never fired it. Been meaning to for quite awhile now, but when I got my other rifles, mainly my AR-15, I take those to the range instead. This isn't a photo of mine, but one very similar.

My father gifted me at the age of 8 with a RWS Diana model 34 .177 Air rifle. He bought it on a trip to Germany and came home with it in a suitcase without TSA even batting an eye, those were the days. I mounted a scope on it and terminated squirrels from my bedroom window lol what a rotten kid i was. Very accurate little air rifle i still have it today.
