Thanked: 3226I had given up looking for CR Northern Harvest until today when I decided to check again. Was in luck for a bottle. Just tried a couple of ounces neat. Very smooth slightly sweet and spicy taste. Was a good nightcap.

Stop it, Bob. You are killing me!
Best I can do is some Knob. A Palette for the good stuff don't come cheap!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Also a fan of the Rye, and I've tried a few. (Templtons, Ri, Willett, Rittenhouse, Wild Turkey and a few others (one on my last trip to Canada that was great and I have to look up))
Like many here Bullet is a great go-to.
Found the CR Northern Harvest at last and although it's good I did not see the hype.
If you can find it the Willet is amazing...
But this was a find, and worth a try....

Thanked: 3226I'd agree as I don't see the hype either but then again I don't see it in most things hyped. It is smooth enough to drink neat and has a pleasant taste.
If it doesn't take your breath away for a second or two like the old issue Navy tot did then it is smooth enough to drink neat. That would be most other alcohol drinks I have tried since. My standards for smoothness is pretty low.

I concur, I wait to judge smoothness until I finish the first drink. These days I am just about exclusively a Rye drinker, on the dark side of things. Although, when I am at the apex of delusional thinking about my station in life, I will add a bottle of Redbreast to the pantry.
