Well, I don't know about that,, I put honey on my chicken, but not on my face to shave.

I have a gallon plus of higher moisture honey that needs to be used. [It still meets the European standards...]

It needs to be used. I will report on the results.

There is a new Pop Eye's Chicken that just opened up a block away from Harbor Freight. We went there last week, great chicken with honey packets. I now cal it Paradise Row.

Whenever I see posts from this thread, I want to drink a cup of honey.

P.S. their spicy chicken is pretty good when I had it a couple years back

I would find it hard and not worth the effort to explain why I am drying cow patties in my back yard. You have to pick your battles!

Not at all! If they keep cows, the likely know exactly why you want dry patty. Most farmers will be happy to let you grab some, and if you cant find dry, take some fresh and set it out in the sun.
I just found this thread, so im late to the party, but I want to agree with the use of mediums instead of large supers. When i was keeping bees, I was doing all the work by myself, and moving the large boxes became a terrible hassle.
I had 24 hives, and lost many to CCD and some others to the bear ( bastard was laughing at me) and eventually just gave up, when I developed an allergic reaction to being stung.
Oh, and up in this area, its a bad idea to take honey from the bees the first year, as our winters are long and harsh, and a starting hive needs every advantage!

This has been thought of and may happen. To make a carboy/5 gallons it would take about 5 quarts.

1/2 teaspoon to smear on my face is a less riskier use to try if it doesn't turn out......

I know you guys were waiting for the results of my test.

An index finger dipped in honey and then smeared on one side. Repeated on the other side. The rest of the 1/2 teaspoon was eaten. A little sticky so I wet my fingers slightly and smeared it around. I left it on while I stropped etc. and gave it a go. Not much different than a dry shave and it stuck to the blade. I then lathered with my Franken soap that I have been using and it shaved "normally".

It certainly didn't do any harm and maybe would have the antibacterial help that has been mentioned but with my quick test I would recommend using the honey on your toast in the morning and not on your face.

Save some for the chicken !!
