Thanked: 4826Our flashlights here are 6000 lumens and those cast a lot of light. 16000 should make you forget it is dark out.

Thanked: 13245Wow just wow
Ok set for an exact comparison.. I took the pic the un-plugged the old lights, then plugged in the LED took the second pic, no adjustments at all to the Camera or the distance..
You can see quite a difference in the pics but IRL there is way more visiblity on the sides.. I am going to order the curved lightbar for the front of the canopy right now

Thanked: 4826The new LED and HID lights just kick the pants off the old lights including halogen.

This weekend my goal is to vanish the night. I'll start shopping Friday. I'm going to get something switch operated.

We use LED lighting for Mountain Biking and they generally come with Cree diodes and are brilliant. Turing nighttime into daylight!

Thanked: 13245Ordered the curved light bar for the front, re-ran all the wiring and took off the old lights..
Set up for the new light bar and a simple plug in after I mount them up there ..
LOL I used a couple of pieces of G10 off the Razor bench to reinforce the fiberglas top around each bolt hole
Ordering off e-bay and searching for the Promo deals I ended up only spending $49 for both lights shipped to the house
The old Flood lights cost $11.99 each so cost is simply not a factor.. If the LED's last half as long as advertised I will be happy

O.K. Glen,,,, I've been studying the internet about LED lights , reading as much as I can. I see some of these lights run into the hundreds of dollars. I don't want garbage, but I want it bright.

Thanked: 13245What I learned
They are all made in China
Glen rule of life, NEVER pay real money for Chinese stuff regardless of the Name on the Box
Cree is one of the names that comes up a lot and is considered to be top of the line offroad lighting, it is made in China also..
I will not spend 7x the amount for it to say Cree on the box, I just won't
I don't mind buying Chinese stuff I just won't pay name brand prices for it
I bought Phillips

I just want some durable, bright lights. If I'm going to mount them on my car, I don't want them to be junk.

Thanked: 4826There is a giant spread in LED lights. I cannot tell from the ads what the difference is. I am planning to do some LED lights on my bush truck. I think I am going with cheap Chinese lights too. I have no idea what was paid for the ones that we have at work, as all that stuff comes from the internal boat shop in Victoria. I am going to be there soon and plan on doing some quizzing there to find out what they are buying.
