Thanked: 4206Yup, as learner said..
And regarding if it was ever restored before, except for the engine upgrade, body is all still original, but was repainted in the 70s and I believe the dash plate was replaced.
Never tried Kroil but hear it works well. I use an aviation product called mouse milk on stuck hardware. Never let me down so far.
Cleaning out the garage this weekend I hope. Make some room for her.."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

HAR! .....That's more wood than my Model A!
Some in the body and in under the bed.
I reckon about the same!
Oh. I have wooden floorboards too.....
Didya know in the Model A days, Henry Ford came up with shipping parts to various factories in wooden crates and when at their final destination, they would be broken-down and cut along the provided lines.

From Hemmings Magazine--
"One of my favorite "legends" doesn't pertain to Classics but to the Ford Model T. At least once a year, I hear a car collector tell someone how Henry Ford directed his suppliers to build packing crates in such a way that the boards could be reused as floorboards in the Model T.
When I ran this story past my old friend, Bob Casey, transportation curator at The Henry Ford--and author of a book on the Model T's centennial--he was well aware of it, but said there was no documented proof that this ever happened."

They did it for as long as wooden floorboards were used, I suppose.
Well into the 30's?
Pretty smart move. It took wooden crates to move heavy parts anyway. May as well make them count at the end.
Likely delayed steel floorboards in Fords for a while!Last edited by sharptonn; 03-23-2018 at 03:41 AM.

Rumor has it that Ford started a charcoal factory to use up the scraps.

Ya, Kingsford. Who knows? They even sold charcoal grills for your trunk! Must have been some good hardwood scraps?

Mike - that looks like a completely awesome project, and knowing you, you'll rock it like Amadeus!! :-)
Beautiful looking car, I can see you driving down the center of town on one of those weekend when all the city people come and pack the place.
How long do you figure before you'll take it at least for a small drive around the Hood?

Thanked: 4206Hope to flatbed it over after Easter Phrank, and have it running shortly thereafter. Maybe on the road street legal by May 24 weekend. Assuming everything is still intact.
Looking forward to the fun of it all..
