Hey guys it's been some time since I posted up in here. 2020 obviously hasnt been a very good year for the sport of HEMA but I was able to get to one tournament the other week. I competed in the SOHFA KINGS CUP in the Longsword and the sword alone (sabre) events. It wasnt a very big turn out with only 12 competitors in each event. I came 5th in the sabre event which is good considering I've only spared 3 times with a sabre before entering it. I took 1st in the longsword. I fought 22 times over the weekend and had a great time.

This week I had a sabre come in the mail. I ordered a VB gymnasium sabre from purpleheart armoury. I didnt care for the Kvetun standard sabre and I didnt want to pay the premium price for the Easton. I have a buddy in Buffalo that had a VB and he highly recommended it. Now that I have mine I can see why.

Thanked: 1160Funny,I didn't even stop to think about mentioning it. I just recently got an Easton Mark III from Kvetun(what an ordeal that was) and I really like the feel of it albeit has never tasted sparring yet. I got the straight blade version to mimic a basket hilt feel to it .I'm all about the basket hilt now.

I actually used a friends Easton in the event. It's a awesome sword and I loved the way it feels, just didnt like the price tag that comes along with it.
