Thanked: 315Wife has told me not to get her anything since money is so tight right now.
I really want to get a few things for her to open though. She didn't celebrate Christmas growing up in China, so it is still really exciting for her. I love watching people open gifts I got them, but being my wife and the fact it is still newer to her makes it more special to me.
Really look forward to seeing my daughter (turned 2yo in October) tear into some gifts!
She has to study A LOT right now for an internship, so she wants me to take our daughter to my parents for Christmas without her this year.
I'm going to try and do something for the three of us when we get back.- Joshua

A gym membership. I’m tired of hearing her complain.

Getting my wife a couple pieces of jewelry (not pricey but ones she told me she likes) and a couple of fountain pens and ink.

Aloha!
Lots of electronic gadgets. She wanted a wireless speakers system for the Condo in Hawaii. Check. She wanted a wireless charger for her iPhone and iWatch. Check. Amazon Echo. Check.
And...
She does not like sexy underthings, and that's a shame because she's a very attractive woman who works out and takes great care of herself. She looks 15 years younger than her age. But she doesn't like anything "sexy" at bed time .... SO, I am tricking her. I've tricked her before like this. I buy these cute cat shorty pajamas a size too small for her, so they look very sexy.... and since they are CAT themed, she actually wears them! She loves cats. She just says, "Aren't they a bit small for me?" I just smile and say, "Um.... No".
More of a gift to ME than HER, but what the heck.
Now THESE are TRULY the CAT'S PAJAMAS!

After 52 years of marriage, we don't exchange gifts the way we did when our children were young. If there is something we want or need throughout the year, we usually get it. I just had to replace my 10 year old computer, which is all the gift that I need. I will usually give her a card with a little cash, a gift certificate to her favorite site for women's clothes on sale, and a calendar from a favorite artist that she likes to put up each year. She'll often pick out a fragrance or aftershave that she thinks I'll like. Enjoying another Christmas together in reasonable health is a blessing and is all we need.

You may have got your money's worth, Richard, if you managed to get 10 years out of your last computer.
