Thanked: 4206Trying again to walk the fine line of domestic gadgets.
Got her a lil robot vacuum designed for tile and hardwood, plus a stocking full of beauty items.
Like many of you, we get what we need throughout the year, and blessedly, have lived long enough to really not be wanting for anything ‘specific’.
Time off work, at home, with family, with lots of tasty leftovers, with some Irish whiskey,,, that’s Christmas men!

A vacuum robot! Thank you! I've been wracking my brain for a great present.. have a ring and a wallet.
She wants a fancy over-priced designer wallet designed by strange smelling, soft handed, fancy guys from far off lands... ✔ got that one.
The ring I picked out of my secret hoard of jewels, gold, silver, and jewelry.. If she only knew! Muahahahahahah!
But I need something very utilitarian to make me feel okay about the wallet (she has several).
That Robo-Vacuum fits the bill!“You must unlearn what you have learned.”

we used to years ago not get anything for each other,, just for the family. but now at our age i cant take it with me, and expensive jewerly is what she likes, i,m not brave enough to get her an appliance for a gift. got her a robot vacuum but it was for the house,, now we have bought soemthing for the house for our xmas gift in the past , like the tv that cost as much as a nice used car. so i,m a little extravagant than most for birthdays and valentines day(cause Charlies meet cost me more than travel) and christmas. its only money and i aint getting younger.
in the early days we were all about the kids, so that was fun now its our turn Tc“ I,m getting the impression that everyone thinks I have TIME to fix their bikes”

Thanked: 4206Oh gents, I know it’s a calculated gamble doing the vacuum thing. Robot or not..
Working the whole give her more free time and something she’d never buy herself angle.
Plus I am the de facto family tech guy so if anyone was to buy a robot anything,,,,
The beauty stocking swag shall ensure if I do get slapped, the hand will smell nice, and be luxuriously supple.

Speaking of vacuum cleaners;
A friend told me he couldn't decide on a motorcycle or vacuum for the missus, so, he got both:
"I get some lather and lather-up, then I get my razor and shave! Zip Zop, see that? My face Is ripped to shreads!"

I asked my wife what she wants and she said "nothing would make me happier than a diamond bracelet." So that's what i got her; nothing.
