Thanked: 0It's funny to hear reactions like this from people here! The forums about dry jeans everyone takes it as completely normal and no one questions it. I'm sure if I mentioned straight razors there I'd get nearly the same reaction as here.
And i still do treat my jeans like I do others, wiping stuff on them and such. Just the cut and quality of the denim is so much better. Having your butt look nice gets all the girls with quality pants!
Very funny to just see what people are used to and how they respond.

Wow.. $200 is pretty near suit money for me (actually my best fitting and favorite suit was about $7 at salvation army but that's a whole nother story). Like others here, to me jeans are disposable. I appreciate plenty of "finer things".. maybe I'll look for some of these designer jeans on the cheap at SA (never know what you'll come accross there!). I typically just wear wranglers or levis.

My wife just made me throw out four pairs of denim jeans that I have worn for four to seven years. I think the most expensive pair was $10. I will agree with her that they had finally worn out their welcome, I still sighed when I threw them into the trash can. Looked like rats chewed on the hems, but man were they comfortable. And yes, I washed them. Maybe not as often as I should have, but then again considering the dry denim thing here...

Thanked: 0Yes, broken-in denim feels great.
I've never heard of "dry denim"... interesting concept, but it wouldn't work for me. I'm too sweaty and greasy; I can't imagine that airing or freezing would have any positive effect. They'd just end up like Hell's Angels 'originals'.
I'm cheap on clothes. The most I've ever paid for jeans was $70 for a pair of buttonfly Luckies probably 10 years ago. Now, I usually wait 'til Target has Wranglers on sale for $15 or so. I'd be willing to spend more, if they were guaranteed to fit perfectly and never wear out. Couldn't justify it otherwise.

Holy crap! And I make fun of the $50 Gap people. I'll put it this way, my jeans are bought to be disposable work wear. If I pay more than $10, I'm pissed. There is no denim on this planet worth $200 to me.
That being said, I can identify with having good, worn in jeans cut for you. It feels nice and looks great.

Sorry dude!! My jeans get worn around horses, manure, and dogs. Plus I wear them working construction. They get washed after each days wear!! If I let them go a week you could smell them from your house.
Frozen horse apples still smell like horse apples.
These are my type of guys. Cheap jeans that you take care of and wear till the arse falls out.
