I think most "tea-bag" tea is made up of what's called dust. Basically, it's the "dust" that is left over from selecting the whole and broken leaves that gets left at the bottom of the machine.

I also don't drink coffee, just tea. I don't drink too much of it though - perhaps a cup or two a day. I currently have an almost empty tin of 'imperial gunpowder' of taylor&harrogate, almost full tin of rishi's earl gray and probably 1/4lb of excellent organic yunnan.
I also like herbal teas since I grew up this way, but again not the teabags - usually picked up and dried by my mom (usually tilia, rosehips, or a blend of thyme, oregano, st. john's wort, and leaves of raspberry and blackberry).

I agree: it has to be loose leaf.

Silver needles (White Tea) is my favourite, but lately natural organic Rooibos
    has become a staple.

I thought only Limey's drank tea?

Just kidding! I like a tea now and then, but nothing fancy. For some reason, it puts me to sleep.

Darjeeling is my preferred black tea and Twinings does a great one.

I also drink herbal teas and love to drink a decoction of Korean Red Ginseng (with other herbs) in early mornings and late evenings. It's a great energy builder which is serving me well right now with a newborn and a post operative mother on my hands.

Loose-leaf is great. There is a large flea market in central Florida that we go to every time we visit. There is a vendor there who makes their own tea...FANTASTIC! Their chamomile, peppermint, and Gun Powder teas are amazing.

I've never experienced leaf teas out of the bag,I'll have to give that a try, but I often have a glass of Pu-ehr tea which is fermented and aged. Tastes earthy and I look forward to a cup on occasion. My daughter is asking me to add some smilies, bear with me.

Another tea fan here. I enjoy teas from the Indian regions, rooibos "tea," and white teas (mostly silver needle).

I love me some Yerba Mate drank the traditional way solo. That's what I drink in my office all day. Fill a Mate Gourd with some loose Yerba Mate, fill with hot water, drink and enjoy
