All well and good, as that seemed to have taken off, and it was in aid of national identity, but the ‘traditional’ dress invented for men, in particular for the rich mining magnates, wife’s, harpist (it was the wife that did all the 'inventing' of traditional dress) never took off, and was a bit of a mish mash at best. I’m all for re-inventing the Welsh men’s costume and having a Kilt as part of the ensemble. Maybe I ought to write to the Welsh Assembly and have them put it to the vote . The Kilt would be just as valid as the rest of the traditional dress worn by Welsh women. :0

I am going to revive this thread..

Im thinking about getting a kilt.
actually... i am going to get one, its just cost will dictate when.
I found the perfect wardrobe for me on USA Kilts
but its going to be about $300, for me that is a small fortune.

Casual Pub Package | USA Kilts | USA Kilts

It doesnt show the selections i made.. but they end up adding $100 to the price tag.
After shipping and all that, it will be about $300 XD
I chose the Irish American print,
    Celtic Knot buckle
Rob Roy Day Sporran (w. sporran chain instead of hangers)
    Shamrock Kilt Pin
    Lewis Hose in Black
    Tartan Flashes (matching)
    Highland Shirt (Black)
    "What goes around, comes around"
I was done a favor by "Bill3152" and would like to pass it on to anyone in need
If your in need, id love to help

If it's a proper quality material kilt then that sounds like a bargain.

I was planning on it some time in the future.
Its going to add another $100 to the cost though, so it would be something I would have to get later on.
I want to find out from where in Ireland my family is from so i could get the appropriate crest. Instead of getting a generic sgian

What's your surname and I could tell you where the clan was based.

    Finally got one |

a LOT has happened since i have been inactive..
    Got engaged and everything!
Took a LOT of convincing to get her to finally tolerate me getting one.

I couldnt afford much, so i got a "Thrifty Kilt" from "Stillwater Kilts" here in Minnesota.
Its a test run to see if I like it enough to buy a better more spendy kilt.
    So far, i LOVE it
