Really crummy pics of mine, they really do no justice to the work...extremely hard to take pics by yourself...lol. But here are mine, always want to get more but need something that's meaningful that I'm willing to wear till death and beyond. The Virgin Mary on my left arm and My Mom & Pops from their wedding day on my right. Maybe I'll post better one's when I can get my wife to take pics

True, but I it's where I like it. I only have two criteria for location:

    1) I like to keep my tattoos in areas that allow me to choose my audience.

    2) I won't let the temporary pain of the moment let me compromise on the look and location of a permanent peice such as this.

I'm sure I'll change my time as soon as he hits a tender spot for the umpteenth time. But so far I have actually been feeling a little left out in the pain department, thought it would be a right of passage. So far my experiences have been virtually painless.

We'll see how tips one goes...

I'm going to assume that you've been tattooed before judging from the way you speak? Not to discourage you as to each their own, but you do realize the less "meat" there is to put ink over the more it's gonna hurt...the ribs rank right up there with the elbow IMO...the last places I'd get inked unless I was finishing a suit...lol.

I have gotten my ribs done and it didn't hurt near as much as some of the more muscular places. IMHO the back of the calf hurt way more than the ribs. But the ribs bother you for days during the healing. Its still not too bad but you will know its there for about a week.

I have a shrunken head tattooed in my armpit. That and the surrounding area is a little tender to say the least. Also, I've had the inside of my lip done. That was uncomfortable but not as painful as it sounds.

I have my neck tattoed,my right arm hosts an dragon that extends on the elbow and my upper right side of my back has another dragon.
The elbow didn't hurt as much as people say,it is a little bit more pain than the rest but not something to be afraid of.
In the end it all comes back to ones pain acceptance level.
Ps: if anyone is interested i can post pics.

Wow great thread! I have two.... First one I got when I was 23 of a cattle head skull and tribal eagle within that and feathers (My Mom is Half Cherokee) although I never did any research to get anything that actually had to do with the Cherokee.........kind of stupid on my part. The second one is on my ankle it's my birth sign (Libra). I was dating a girl at the time who had Tat's herself and since we shared the same birth sign we got them together. After a split with her two years later I added to mine. I would love to get more especially a shoulder to a T-shirt length sleeve but have trouble on deciding on something anymore, I'm not as quick to just do something as I once was. If I do anything it will be all black and lean more toward design than something actual. Great pic's & tats peeps!
