Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Thanked: 485Ta. Of course, for all of us, we can remember each time we got a tatt and the time behind it. I sort of wish I never got the hand on my hand. You know, I could not even BEGIN to count the number of times people have asked me if it's one of my kids' hand prints. My answer is always the same:
"No, it's not, but I should change my story to say it is. It's just something I saw on the wall when I was getting another tatt. I like the idea of its fundamental nature; like how cave man used to put hand prints in caves, and Indians put hand prints on their horses. It's a very basic symbol...
The barbed wire turning into birds represents freedom coming from oppression for me.
The sun is part of a picture I saw in a tattoo magazine. I like that one simply because it looks cool and looks good against the other solid black tattoos on that arm.
Here's my first tattoo, a very 80's looking dragon. I got it when I joined the army on a night out in King's Cross...I often think about getting it 'jazzed' up, but then I decide not to; to leave it as it is...
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

My grandmother hit the roof with my first and said "you'll regret it". Having seen and done a bit on my time on this rock I'm opposed to regrets for doing things. It was the right decision at the time and every time I see them they remind me of a specific time in my life.

Thanked: 4826That's so very true. Every time I have gotten a new one I get asked if I want any of the old ones touched up, my reply is always not on your life, and it's been the original artist ask each time. Not only is my ink a mark of a point in my life, but they have weathered with the rest of me.

I have 3. 2 identical tribal designs on my upper arms (not very big, 8" long) designed by me. They mirror each other and I still think they look decent even if the muscles once there have relaxed a bit.
On my right shoulder I have the obligatory "squaddie" tattoo of a lion rampant with a union flag caught high in the breeze behind it. This does look rubbish, always has. The lion looks like a cartoon lion.

I had two, nowadays three. Originally made in my army days. If i remember it correctly we all were very drunk, so the dude made two tattoos with butterfly needles. The other was army lion on my left shoulder and the other was just some weird military symbol on my left arm (looked like chicken ).
So after 20 years or so i decided to take cover tattoos by real tattoo artist. He replaced the army symbol with the one we use in the navy. Still not perfect but i guess it was almost impossible job. And there's blackbird now covering my left arm. Thanks Jimmy for encouraging me to go for it.
And the third is own navy squadron symbol shark with a sea mine on my right shoulder. Made by real tattoo professional this time.
Have to ask wifey to take pics some day. She has also few small beautiful pics on her.
Still planning to take at least one; but i haven't had hurry with taking new ones.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'

I have many. People ask me how many and I lose count. All of them have meaning and only one of them are from flash, one I got when I was in the Army. The rest
are originals. My latest is of my hurling stick. It's a memorial to my ACL which I tore playing hurling. I can find any reason to get a tattoo!
