I have only one tat but it's of great significance to me. It represents the vanquishing of a long standing fear. I've always been deathly afraid of spiders but now I keep 30 to 40 tarantulas at any given time.

I cant remember the name of the story at the moment. It was a warrior who slain the dragon and bathed in it blood to make him impervious to all, but while bathing in the dragons blood a single maple leaf fell down and stuck to his back. Therefore that spot was not bathed in blood and was his weak spot. And he was slain by being impaled in the spot on his back, shaped of a maple leaf. Anyone remember this story?

That would be the Nordic legend of Sigurd Fafnersbane from the Völsungasaga, also known from the German Nibelungenlied. Not the inspiration for my tat though.....

Went in for a session on a new tattoo this past Saturday, and
we spent about an hour getting ready, freehanding the piece,
and then decided to have him do up a full drawing and get
started next weekend.
I now have a fully shaved arm for the week

This will be my second tattoo with Dustin Poole, who is the
owner of Sacred Balance on 17th Ave. I've had three sessions
with him so far, and I've paid by the hour at the end of each
session. I'm not sure of the exact rate, but somewhere in the
area of $150/h. I think that's pretty standard for custom work.

I have none, but all three of my children (a daughter and two sons) have. A work of caution when choosing a tattooist. I agreed to pay for my daughter's tattoo if she'd let me choose who would do it. I wanted to make sure he was licensed and safe. I should have checked his skills as an artist. So, when choosing someone to put permanent marks on your body, MAKE SURE HE CAN DRAW!
