Here is how I spent my weekend.
This was the larger of two rooms. If I remember right there was 71 bales total. 4 archers each that is a lot of shooters.
I shot good but of course not as good as I wanted! No trophy for me this weekend.
Last week ended our winter season and my Wednesday team got first place for league play. My Thursday team not so good.

I used to do target archery about 10 years ago, I got pretty good, started getting perfects at 30m. I much preferred to shoot at 70m and 90m though.
I have just joined the local bowhunters club, I don't know what the disciplines in the US are but over here the main ones are target, field, and bow hunters.
I used to shoot a compound with 3x scope, peep, release aid etc.
I have just started shooting instinctively on both compound and recurve. I kind of like the idea of recurve instictive, much more of a challenge. I am in the market for a new bow so I'm not sure which way to go. I would like to do both actually.
Its always fun to shoot a fully kitted compound bow, such speed !

I am sure that here it is very similar. If groups do not base themselves on FITA rules they are very similar. I personally won't shoot anywhere that they require a dress code though. I like to wear jeans and a T shirt.
I don't know or care at the moment what my fully kitted compound bow shoots for speed at the moment but have won many bets with recurve shooters that their bow is faster than mine! As long as the arrows don't hit the ceiling speed is not important for indoor shooting at 20 yards or 18 meters.

Yesterday was the first time I got the chance to play with my bow for a while.
Set up the bow and spent about half an hour just shooting at a blank bale at about 5 meters.
Spent the time working on the forum and getting back down to the basics. Felt good to be at it again.Shaving_story on Instagram

We seem to have some people here in Perth Western Austalia, learning to shoot recurve bows from horseback, reckon I will try it myself, not sure what my roping horse will make of it though !!
