Thanked: 485Cuff Links Of The Day The Twenty First of August Two Thousand and Twelve
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

You know, for the longest time I just assumed they were a plated 5c piece. After all, why would someone go through the pain of making the back of a cufflink decorative?
Anyway, I don't think they are. There are things that are off - like no date. Moreover, they don't weigh as much as the coin would. To be honest, I don't know if they are silver of white gold. Kind of sad eh lol. Bah! Next time I wear them, I'll pop into my jeweler friend and find out .David

I wear dress shirts a lot and I make sure they always have French cuffs.
My favourite set of cuff links are these that my wife got specially made for me to wear on our wedding day. It was a great surprise.

For most of my days cufflinks are a little bit too much, but that doesn't stop me from dressing up every now and then. I usually get away with being a notch overdressed by being a foreigner (when I bought my last pair of AE casual shoes I got compliments for wearing 'fancy dress shoes', even though they are distressed leather bluchers with rubber soles and nobody in Europe would call them 'dress shoes' ).
The vintage cufflinks are just not my style - I wear more contemporary stuff, although I've got a few vintage pairs which are essentially timeless. I should take some pictures.
As far as shirts go - I have quite a few from Tyrwhitt - they're always on sale for around $50 and the slim fit is about the same as the BrooksBrothers extra slim fit which fit me best but tend to be limited (pretty much the same quality too). Still most of my french cuffed shirts are Eton and Canali - they're another level up, but on sale it's not too bad, and higher quality shirts last longer in addition to looking and feeling better.

Alfred Dunhill, a gift from my wife. Not really my "go to's", mainly reserved for my tux or white shirts.

Thanked: 485I love you way you said being a foreigner allows you to get away with being a notch over dressed. I'm envisaging Hercule Poirot...

Thanked: 485My favorite cufflinks. Edwardian, handpainted pictures of dogs (Dalmation, Terrier, Bulldog and Labrador (I think)). Very nice condition.
