I hate to admit it but I am not particularly fond of green tea. The taste doesn't appeal to me. I do, however, have my daily relaxing cup of Darjeeling. I also have a fondness for English Breakfast tea.

I should have called the title "Tea anyone?" I think all tea is good and everyone has their own tastes.

I do find a cup of tea very relaxing. It gives me the time to sit back, clear my memory banks, and contemplate absolutely nothing! Just the sheer enjoyment of the moments with nothing in particular on my mind. I agree with you Zen that each has his/her own tastes. But that is secondary to real reason for drinking it...

I havn't tried it, but I hear its not for every body. Last time I was in Oahu I came accross a Japanese tea house close to the beach in Waikiki. The wife and I stopped in for a nice pot of sencha prepared by the owner. It was very nice. I agree with the other posts here, the Chinese, and Japanese tea I've had have been great. Has any one here tried the pu-er? Its a dark, aged, and pressed Chinese tea AKA tocha sp? Its a full bodied tea, a good one for coffee drinkers. I think I'll make some tea now.

I have tried puerh. It is pretty good. It is strong like coffee. Very dark but good. RISHI tea has some organic stuff that is very good.I was wondering how any of you guys whip up your matcha. I can't seem to get up a good froth on mine no matter what I try. It must take a certain skill or something. I love the taste but I always end up with a bunch of the tea on the bottom of my cup that I have to slurp down.

I'm a huge fan of Genmaicha, I get it loose-leaf whenever I can. Hojicha is nice too, but I find sencha to be a bit bland. I drink Yerba Maté as well, and often I'll mix in some Genmaicha since it keeps my stomach happy.

If you put in a little matcha in your genmaicha you will give it a nice boost of green tea flavor without the bitterness. I do that a lot.
