    Default Quote your favourite 'Western'

Any "Western' movie buffs out there ?

One of my favourites is 'Tombstone'

Doc Holiday shoots Johnny Ringo and says.

"You're no daisy! You're no daisy at all. Poor soul, you were just too high strung.
It would appear that the strain was more than he could bear."
“The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.”

    High Plains Drifter

    Mordacai
    : I'm the new sheriff!
Mayor Jason Hobart: [laughing] I'm sorry, Dan; but you should have seen the look on your face when he took off your badge and pinned it on the runt.
Mordacai: I'm not a runt anymore; I'm the new sheriff!
The Stranger: [reaches over and takes off the mayor's hat and puts it on Mordecai] And the mayor. Any objections?

I think High Plains Drifter and Unforgiven are bookends to Clint's western career: both are fantastic movies, and approach the same "indestructible killer" from 2 different angles that end with the same message.

    Awesome films.

    Two more from Josey Wales:

"Dieing aint much of a livin'". and "Sometimes ya just gotta get plain mad dog mean!"

    Great stuff guys.

I like Eastwood's movies based on Kurasawa's Sanjuro character.

'Get three coffins ready.' 'My mistake: four coffins.'

    Default Western movie quotes.

    Two come to Mind:

Marlon Brando to Karl Malden in One Eyed Jacks:

Malden to Brando - Why did you kill him Kid?
Brando to Malden - Hed didn't offer me a selection.

Alan Ladd In Shane - A gun is just a tool, no better or no worse than the man handling it.

Ha, that's the quote I was going to give as well. And, one of my favorite movies of all time.

"Aw, Pretty Boy, can't you show me nuthin but surrender?" Patti Smith
