I am in Philly for a two week trip, so today I drove up to Allentown to visit Cigars International. They were having a special today. Carlos Torano was at the shop (Torano Cigars). Got to meet the owner, Carlos, spent a good half hour talking with him and the US rep. Got a box of Exodus 1959 box pressed Torro Maduro’s which Carlos signed for me, a freebee 5 cigar sample pack which includes a yet to be released special edition cigar for 2009 and another 3 stick freebee to round out his product line and a Carlos Torano hat. Very nice guy and some darn good cigars. Not often you get to have a premium cigar with the owner of the cigar company. Fun day.

To be honest.... getting to keep my job. The company I work for did a MAJOR house cleaning. The "straight razor" came really close to me.... to close for comfort!

Went out to a loacal bar where I can smoke indoors. Had a few pints of Woalvers Oatmeal Stout with a Sancho Panza Double maduro.

I've been smoking my pipes quite a bit recently. While visiting my brother I also visited my closest buddy from high school and shared my Gent's blend with them. Since I've been back home, I've been smoking an burly/black cav mixture that my buddy gave me (I believe he got it from Peretti's) in a new meerschaum pipe that my brother gave me for Christmas.

Christmas peaches, peaches in light or no syrup drained, put into mason jar and filled with a favorite brandy, let them sit in the fridge for a few days to mature and enjoy, usually smoking a pipe with friends.

On Sunday I went out to a local tobacco shop and picked up a Karl Erik as something of an impulse buy. Since then, I've been alternating between a new, high latakia English blend in the KE and Gent's Blend in my Chacom cherrywood. Tonight is back to the Gents/Chacom (as soon as I finish eating).

A nice pipe is a great way to get through grading papers.
