I can't believe I have missed this thread. I prefer bourbon over all else and currently in my stock:

*Makers Mark
*wild turkey 101
*Jim Beam
*Basil Hayden
*Baker's
*Bookers
*Old Ezra

And a liter of Blackberry Brandy for the occasional change of pace.

Kentucky does not make whisky, it is bourbon. FWIW

Balvani Double-Wood. 12 years old.

12 years is plenty old enough to develop a really great flavor, especially when aged for 10 years in Sherry barrels, and 2 years in port wine barrels. Plus, it's a bit stronger at 12 years than 18 or 20.

Bourbon and Scotch are types of whiskey, so all Scotch is Whiskey, and all Bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon or scotch, and no bourbon is scotch, and no scotch is bourbon.

Ah Jame-o; a great go-to bottle that's easy on the wallet. I tend to keep some of that on hand at all times.

Figured I'd stop reading and post what I've got and my favorites.

I have JD Single barrel, Glenlivet 18, Macallan 12 & 18, and Balvenie double barrel.

My favorite is the Macallan 18, followed by the 12, and then the balvenie. The balvenie is quite nice. The JD kind of tastes like a better quality of Jack, not all that nice to me.

If you weren't in Pheonix, I'd buy you a round. 2 of yours are my top 2. Glenlivet 18 is only second to the Balvenie double
