Barber of Seville.
My favorite is La Boheme. I thought surely most of you would say your favorite was The Barber of Seville.

Although not an opera, but a choral work (scenic cantata), my favorite is Carmina Burana.
The most famous of the songs in this work is "Fortuna, Imperatrix Mundi (O Fortuna)" used in many movies and tv commercials for it's high drama and epic tone.

Thanked: 7"Fortune as the emporess of the world"?!? How blasphemous! Most of CB was bawdy stuff (for its day) set to music by Orff . My favorite is the "Roasted Cygnet".
