My Fathers days present arrived today
My Fathers day present arrived today. I keep a few Cubans in the humi but with the recent tax increase, I can order Habanos for less than some of the boxes I get from my tobacconist. I have always liked Romeo and Juliette cigars. They will round out the selection nicely.

You know buying cubans hurts the kids, right? This tax is to save the children dammit.
Anyway...nice box. Now I need to find a towel to dry my keyboard off with

Congrats!
I bought a Goldwing late last year, love it. Do you ever smoke when you ride?

I bought 3 boxes of the churchills about 2 years ago ... because I absolutely love them. A few things I've noticed about the RYJ's ...
- They usually need about 1.5~2 years downtime before coming into their own.
- Many classify this brand as a 'beginner' or newbie brand. Personally, I feel that the company is trying to shrug this stigma by producing excellent cigars. Maybe it's me , but I love them.
- They seem to smoke better when dry. Store them properly, but about a week before smoking, put them in a dry box (~50 RH). Even young cigars smoke much better this way. A tell tale way to tell if there is too much humidity is the acrid smoke. Either age or humidity is usually the culprit of bitter smokes.
A while back I was on a petite cedros kick. I think they stopped making the #2 size, which is my favorite. Go figure. Glad I bought a few boxes of them.
Another general thing I've learned about cuban cigars.
Buy at least 2 boxes.
1 to smoke and 1 (or more) to age. By the time the smoking box is finished, the 'aging' box is usually aged and ready to smoke. It might seem like alot of money up front, but happiness for years to come is worth some price after all ...
Congrats on the box, pop.

Nice, that's one hobby I haven't picked up. Thank God for my bank account. I couldn't imagine what a box of Cubans go for here in the states....
We have assumed control !

The hard part is letting them sit for a couple of weeks to recover from their long flight. I have always like R&J cigars be they Cuban or any other region. I have some Habana Reserve, Reserve Maduro and one of my personal favorites the Viejo box pressed. I really enjoy the sweet cedar aroma and taste. I have plenty of other manly man put you on the floor sticks but the R&J and Montie's are always a good staple go to stick.
I try to keep a one year supply on hand and rotate stock from the bottom of the humi up. That way everything get a little more mature time.

When I ride, I ride. When I drive, I drive. I give it all my attention. It would be hard to smoke a cigar inside a full face helmet. Love the Goldwing.
