My buddy got me hooked on pipes and I'm trying to get him hooked on Straights.
My first pipe was a Savinelli Pisa in an apple shape. Still my favorite pipe but I have a good billiard that gets more use since it's lighter. I love my cigars but give me a tin of Blue Note and my Savinelli and I'll be extremely happy!

I would like to see a John Eells flat poker group 3 or 4 size with a matching set of briar scales and a hand forged Josh Earl French Point 6/8 1/4 hollow.

Can I join too?
I'm a Savinelli, Stanwell guy. English/Oriental blends. Sure I'd love to have something fancier but I need to keep things simple and humble.

Thanked: 335I have a Stanwell and a Dunhill that are wonderful smokes with 965. Alas my stash of 965 is getting too close to the bottom. I've gotta try to find a replacement tobacco, heavy on the latakia, or I'm going to start some serious twitching. Does anyone know what happened to Dunhill?

Some conglomerate bought them out. First Murray's lost the account to make the tobacco and a Danish firm began producing it. Not quite the same as the old stuff but I thought it was good. Next thing you know they dropped the Nightcap (one of my favs) and now I think the 965 is history. The current Dunhill seems to be more into fashion, clothing and such. Rumor is that they are getting out of any connection with pipes and tobacco.

My local shop has a match to 965 that they blend in house. I'm not sure how close it is to the original, since I've never had any, but their blend is very good.
