I hope you all will always be proud of your children. There will be new and different joys as they age. I've been blessed. Both sons did very well in school as athletes (swimmers) and scholars. They each were admitted to Yale ....classes of '08 and '11 where they swam/swim. They did it on their own. Ok, we made them study.
Even the best and brightest will also disappoint. I remember last summer when the police called. Son Sam headed to swim practice at 6 a.m. but when a mere block from home, decided he'd skip practice and sleep it out in the car. Of course, his plan was to tell us he swam! May all disappointments be so small.
Best to all. Enjoy your young ones...it goes.....(you know).

Thanked: 199All I have to say is if you have a camcorder, record everything you can! I miss the days when my son would do the whole long drawn out baby laugh at whatever silly thing I may have been doing at the time.
He'll be 2 on the 20th, and he doesn't laugh the way he used to, and I REALLY miss it. Don't think I ever got it on my camcorder, so it's just something that will have to live in my mind as long as I can hold onto it.
Yes, there are moments when you need a break, but I would never trade him for anything in the world...not even all the razors, hones, and strops
He's worth much more than that to me

Man, Now I feel old. My son just turned 18 and my Daughter, 21 just gave birth to her first, A baby girl, 7lbs 4oz. She was in labor only 3 hours....I'm a Grandpa at 47.....I don't feel like a Grandpa. It's cool because now I can spoil the crap out of her baby....

Silver is still offline while she gets her new place sorted.
In the meantime, I hope that you gentlemen will accept this father's humble offerings.
The first is, well, lunchtime in the park. The second, Nimrod hiding under her big sister's fleece. Her big sister squealed with delight when she saw it.
