Since my 1991 323 Mazda went end up on me last June I've been driving my son's 1999 Toyota Tacoma. Gas guzzler from the get go. Got used to good mileage per gallon and feel I need a bank loan to fuel the Toyota. I will say that air conditioning and automatic drive is a very pleasant contrast despite the lousy mileage.

Thanked: 4827I recently upgraded my pickup. The two truck I looked at very carefully were the Tacoma and GMC 1/2 ton. The Tacoma with a V6 gets worse fuel economy than the GMC V8.

I've been looking at mid-size trucks and saving up. I'm leaning toward a diesel. The Chevy Colorado (and GMC) has a diesel option. I read the Tacoma has lost some sales to the Colorado and Toyota will be reversing their stance and offering a diesel Tacoma in 2018. The Ford Ranger is supposed to have a diesel option when it is reintroduced.
The Chevy Colorado with the 2.8 L turbo diesel is supposed to get 30 miles per gallon on the highway according to the Chevrolet website.Last edited by Leatherstockiings; 08-23-2017 at 03:40 PM.

nessmuck ya got it good. Gas here is now at 2.79/gal. I was still getting 25 to 28 mpg on the old Mazda when it went bye-bye. Don't know the mpg on the Toyota but I'm sure it isn;t good.
