One good thing about our times, there are lots of fine beers, ales, etc. being made. More than I will ever have time to sample in my lifetime, I guess.
If I had to name one favorite brewery, it would be Goose Island in Chicago; partly because they are local, but mainly because they have a really excellent lineup. And out of that if I had to name one favorite brew, it would be Honker's Ale--full-bodied, with a full, sharp, hoppy flavor that I find hits the spot any time of year.
To which I could add Great Lakes Brewing Company's Nosferatu for fall, Pacífico, Guinness of course ... well, I could go on and on. And most recently in Aberdeen I had a very fine local brew called Macbeth--Deeside is the brewery, I think. I don't know if it's even available outside Scotland.
And I'm reminded that I really have to try some of Bell's brews. My daughter goes to college in Michigan, so it's really my duty.
